Tips for Scrapbookers and Digital Scrapbookers

The only thing I can really think of that has helped me keep up with my scrapbooking paperwise for the past 2 years is to open up a blogger account at www.blogger.com to keep up with my fast paced world. I take photos on a daily basis so each night I would faithfully post my best photos and journal about the day. Sometimes I would even include a quote or a poem that I found that would go great for that day. When it was finally time to scrapbook those photos I would just go to my blog on that day and get all my journaling and it helps to keep track of all my photos as well.

Since the end of August I have gone digital. Yes, my DH was right. Digital is the way to go. He tried to switch me a while back to digital but I just refused. I guess I can be stubborn too. I have been trying to do the digital pages instead of just posting the journaling and photos, however, if I do get behind which has happened I would again just post my photos and the journaling just to save on time.

Now that I am digital you may want to know how I store all my files. Well, this is a bit of a challenge because I have been collecting way too many files in 2 months. Some freebies from other sights and some which I have purchased and earned by posting pages. The website which I frequent and love their products is digitalscrapbookplace (DSP). Since I have purchased way too many kits from that sight I now have a folder just for DSP and within that folder I have all the designer names and when I purchase a kit from the store or receive a kit as a posting bonus I immediately put it in the designers folder. I also try to print out a contact sheet as I'm saving it so I have a hard copy to look at when I finally get down to using the kit. I store these contact sheets in a looseleaf book under category such as flowers, word art, children, holiday, seasons etc.

As for storing other kits I received as freebies I have been trying to store them by designer name this way I can give proper credit when I use the kits.

Oh, printing the contact sheets is a GREAT idea! I'll have to do that and label them so I know what DVD the kits are stored on. Thanks for sharing!

Have to agree with meg about printing out the contact sheets. Although I actually have a spreadsheet that I am putting everything into (complete with pictures).

I've had the intention of printing contact sheets but somehow I buy or collect at a faster rate than I've been printing... need to get caught up because I agree it is so much easier. I like the file storage system - I may use it. Thanks for sharing!
