What is my happiness today?

I woke up late this morning since I stayed up extremely too late last night searching for halloween costumes for the children which mind you I did not find ones in the price range I want to spend. It is ridiculous how much they want for children's costumes which they only wear for a day and since I need 3 of them I'm having a horrible time trying to pick something out for them. I also want something that matches because you know once they get older they will be picking out their own costumes so now is the time for Mommy to pick them out.

Okay back to the subject: What is my happiness today? Well, for one the children allowed me to sleep late which they too slept later than usual. We all are suffering from some type of cold. All have runny noses. Once I was up and ready for the day I even was able to go to the bathroom without having little ones in the room with me. Now, this doesn't happen very often so this made me very happy. I know you must be laughing at that but I really mean it. It is a pleasure to be able to go to the bathroom alone (well, really with my lap top for reading.) I know most people read books and magazines, well, now that I have my lap top I read articles on line. Okay enough about the bathroom talk.

The 2nd thing that made me happy today was when I went to get my son out of his room to start his day. Well, everyday he makes me happy when he sees me and screams "MOM" and runs to me and gives me a great big hug and kiss. This is the one thing I look forward to every morning. He is so affectionate. My girls are not like that at all. I have to fight to get them to show their love.

Okay once we are downstairs and ready for breakfast the best thing today that made me happy was the brief 10 minutes my husband was in the kitchen communicating with the children. He works extemely long hours and hardly has time to spend with them and this really puts a smile on my face when they all scream "DAD" or "Hi Dad" and they kiss him good morning. The children are starting to talk and this morning my husband was telling them what each item of food was and they were all trying to repeat after him.

Well, the sudafed is starting to kick in and the children are napping so I must shut my eyes for a brief nap or I'll never make it through the rest of the day. If you are reading this please pray that I feel better soon.

Laura - I am a HUGE fan of the homemade Halloween costume. Many are so easy you don't have to be crafty. Familyfun.com is a great resource.

Chef's all you need is three aprons which they can use after to cook with you in the kitchen. You make the hat with poster board and crepe paper. Use your make-up to give them each a florish of a mustache/beard stubble (yes even the girls like this)

Son - Chick magnet this is adorable dress him all in black clothes (he is the magnet) then attach either pictures of girls or barbie dolls to the clothes. It is hysterical!

Daughters - Art Supplies Crayon dress all in one color use black poster board and white press on letters to make the word Crayon pin on front of clothes use same color foam to make cone hat. If you want to go wild use same color face paint to color face.

There you go - Have fun!

I have to admit, I'm attached to my laptop but I've never taken it into the bathroom with me. Thanks for making me smile!
