Memories Working at Shoprite
Journaling reads:
When I was a teenager and in my early 20’s I worked at a supermarket called Shoprite. In the 6 years that I worked there I held many positions such as cashier, courtesy counter and bookkeeper. At one point I even worked doing price changes. I can still remember there were many times while working there that I had come in contact with a mouse. I am very afraid of them.
There was this one time I was changing prices on some canned items I reached inside the shelf to move the can and up my arm ran a mouse. I jumped and I screamed so loud about it only to discover that not only was there a live mouse scampering across the aisle but behind that can that I had removed was another mouse squashed and dead.
Another time we found one trapped in the conveyer belt while cleaning up the register. You only saw his head popping out at the top of the belt. I have no idea how he got there.
My memory is going but I still remember those 3 mice.

Another Kit I Made
SHOUT
I am thankful for the product called SHOUT. With the triplets that stain their cloths very frequently, shout has helped to get most of all the stains out. From ketchup to pancake syrup. You name it, it gets on their cloths. I think we should hold stock in that company as I'm forever buying it. Hey, does anyone have any coupons for Shout? I'd greatly appreciate them. Thanks.

Thankful for Autumn
1. The kids are now in preschool. They go to school 2 days a week and I am working while they are in school. Basically working to help pay for the preschool. At least it gives me a little bit of break from them.
2. We now have the heat on instead of the air conditioning. I think that the gas bill will be less than our electric bill at least I'm hoping. The electric bills during the summer were super high because of the air conditioning. I just don't like to sweat so we have it on all the time.
3. We are doing more things like a family. Pumpkin picking, hay rides, walks around the block, bike riding, eating out, etc. During the summer it's just too hot to go outside so it's nice to be out and about again.

How You Live Your Life
How You Life Your Life |
You seem to be straight forward, but you keep a lot inside. You tend to avoid confrontation and stay away from sticky situations. You prefer a variety of friends and tend to change friends quickly. You tend to dream big, but you worry that your dreams aren't attainable. |

October Roundup
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
This month I didn't read any books except for the ones I read to the children that I borrowed from the library. We took out a whole bunch of books about Halloween. The funny book that I read to Justin one night was called "Halloween" by Jerry Seinfeld. Okay, it really wasn't a good book to read to him but I don't think he realized the adult humor in it. Love the story about the kids wearing those plastic masks and the way he described about the older people giving out the candy. It was quite funny.
While cleaning out the laundry room I came across a box filled with old mail and magazines that I hadn't quite read. So yes, I did read some parenting magazines and then tossed them in the recycling bin afterwards.
What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
I rented Failure to Launch with Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker
It was one of those movies that my husband did not want to see so I watched it alone. He calls these type movies chick flicks. It was pretty good and I did enjoy it. Another movie that I rented and watched alone was Loverboy. It was a weird type movie. I wouldn't recommend it.
As for tv shows. I was so excited that Scrubs has returned but am a bit upset that it is the final season. That show is so funny. If you want to laugh you need to watch it. Another funny show is My Name is Earl. The episodes when they do the imitation of COPS - Bad Boys, Bad Boys, What ch Gonna Do are hilarious.
What special days did I celebrate and how?
We celebrated my mom's birthday. We had ice cream cake. We also did our annual pumpkin picking plus hay ride as a family. It's not very often my husband participates and joins us. He even went with us trick or treating on the block.
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
We were invited to 2 bat mitzvahs of very distant relatives. Since we are not attending we sent them money. Both events were in long island and both events the children were not invited. One event was on my parents anniversary so we decided not to ask my mom to watch the kids because of that.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
Not really sick but just dealing with some grief over losing my kitty. Crying quite often and really feeling crappy.
What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
We went mini golfing, attempted the food court at the mall with friends from the MOMs club, annual pumpkin picking plus hayride, trick or treating at my sisters house the night before Halloween and then doing it again as a family on Halloween, Walking for pizza with the MOMs club, 2 Halloween parties (one at the Wacky Gym and one with the MOMs club, finger painting with the children, watching movies with the children in our home theatre, and, of course, going out to lunch and dinner as a family.
What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
We went out quite a lot this month. We went to our usual spots like Friendlies, Fridays and Perkins. We did try a new Chinese food place where I have taken food out from at least 3 times this month and one time when my mom was watching the kids my husband and I went for dinner there. They have scallion pancakes which I love. I also tried tons of new recipes this month. Nothing really great in keeping though.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Unusual purchases would be costume jewelry. I'm not into jewelry but did have a jewelry party because I promised my friend I would do one in exchange for her to do a Stampin' Up party for me. I did get a couple pairs of earrings, bracelets and beaded necklaces too.
What were this month's disappointments?
My cat Rocky passed away the night before Halloween. He was found on the middle steps by my husband. He chocked on a pretzel bag that the kids had left laying around in the living room after snack time. I'm still upset about this. Rocky was with us for 11 years. He was my Pooh Bear first little boy before the kids arrived. I feel so bad that he is no longer with us. Halloween will never be the same again.
What were my accomplishments this month?
I managed to teach 2 Stampin' Up classes. One was a card class at my friend Julie's church and the other was a scrapbooking class at my friend Lucrecia's house. Lucrecia's will be an on going monthly class. I also made a bunch of cards to sell at the Wacky Gym Holiday Bazzar in November. Still need to make more though.
