It is with a very sad heart that I have to announce to you today that Deco-Pages will be closing. Our final day will be Nov. 11th.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my Design Team, Creative Team, Sunshine Team, Advertising and Newsletter Teams for all your hard work! I have enjoyed working with all of you, and getting to know you has been the best part of owning this site. I have made so many wonderful friends here at Deco-Pages! We formed a creative family here at Deco-Pages, Thank goodness that we can all stay in touch, and that this is not goodbye.
To our community members who have also been a big part of our creative family we will miss you, and hope that you will also stay in touch. We will share a list of blogs and websites with you where our team members can be found.
The closing of this site is a sign of the times. The cost of running this site is simply not supported by sales. I would like to take this opportunity to help the digital scrapbooking world in general by sharing a few thoughts with you all.
I know we all love freebies, but unfortunately, if there is an overabundance of supplies available for free, then sites where you can find quality products and interact with people who share your interest will eventually cease to exist.
When a person walks into a grocery store, they might get a sample of a new brand of cheese, or even a free box of crackers… if they buy 1, but that is the catch… the store has to make money, or it cannot stay open, and it’s inventory has to be kept up by paying it’s merchants and employees, or they will stop bringing products in or stop working, which again comes back to sales.
One person doesn’t have to spend a lot of money every time they go to a store, but they do have to purchase something on a regular basis, or the store will have to close it’s doors.
To those of you who have supported Deco-Pages on a regular basis, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I apologize to you for not being able to keep our site open...to the rest, I urge you in the future to support the digital scrapbook sites you like to call your virtual home.
For all of our faithful club members that still have months they have paid for coming to them, we have issued gift certificates to cover what is still active and unused in your membership. If you did not receive your gift certificate, please contact me at deb@deco-pages.com
