Mommy's Ransom Box

Where have I been? I've been spending a lot of time at pinterest. Oh my! You thought facebook was addicting this site I can sit for hours at. I now have 42 boards and have pinned 1,171 pins. I have 74 followers and I'm following 73.

I am forever struggling with my kids stuff. They tend to leave stuff all over the house. Worst part is Daisy loves to eat everything so I'm forever trying to save Daisy from choking on something. So when I found this Mommy's Ransom Rubbage box idea from pinterest. I had to try it out. Here's my version of it. Yes, I did spell Ransom wrong on my box which I did fix but after the photo was taken. Also my little box is just too small. I also have a shoprite type bag hanging on the bottom of my steps that I am using for this as well.

I copied MadsMemories chores and edited mine as follows:
Clean out the car

Clean out pantry
Clean out fridge

Pull weeds in back yard for 10 minutes
Pull weeds in front yard for 10 minutes
Rub dad’s feet for 10 minutes and do, ‘this little piggy’ to him.

Sweep kitchen floor
Feed and water Daisy
Walk Daisy in backyard for 10 minutes

Clean out junk drawer

Write 50 times “I will not leave my things out.”

Draw a picture of you picking up things and your mom and dad smiling BIG!
Make up a song about a clean house and perform it in front of your family.
Make your bed blindfolded.
While hopping on one foot, wipe the kitchen counters off.
Choose 2 items of yours to donate to Goodwill.
Vacuum the living room.
Vacuum the computer room.
Vacuum the fish room.

Hand wash 3 dishes
Scrub your toilet while singing, ‘whistle while you work’.
Beg your mother for forgiveness.
Design a machine on paper that cleans the whole house and gets you ready for the day.
Water mommy’s plant in kitchen.
Tell us the story, ‘The Little Red Hen.”
Organize mom and dad’s shoes.
Vacuum one set of stairs
Read a book.
Play with Daisy 10 minutes
help cook dinner
In Conclusion:

Victoria picked clean pantry. This job took a long time to do but she did help Mommy and we managed to get it done.

Here's Justin doing jumping jacks while saying, "I'm a cleaning machine." He loved that one.

The kids loved this new concept so much so they kept pulling out more and more strips just to see what's next and doing them. Yes, they did pull out the Daddy toes one which they thought was so funny. In one day I got more jobs done than any other day plus Daisy got played with more and walked more.

Penpal Journals With My Kids

I saw this Mama and Me Journal idea on pinterest. My kids are in 2nd grade and I thought this was a fantastic idea to get them to write more. When I was younger I loved to penpal. At one point I had about 50 or so penpals. I really enjoyed receiving letters in the mail. To this day I still am in contact with 2 of my penpals from when I was a teenager but we now are facebook friends and send cards to each other during the holidays.

I started each book with the same thing:

Dear _____,

Would you like to be pen pals? I thought it would be fun to be pen pals, but instead of sending letters through the mail, we’ll keep them in this notebook. I will write to you, and leave the notebook on your bed. Then, when you want to write me back, you write on the next page and leave the notebook on my bed.

You can write anything you like. It can be funny or serious or anything you want to write. Sound like fun?

Love,

Mom

P.S. Write back soon! XOXOX!”

I bought composition notebooks and covered them with some fancy scrapbooking papers which I have been hoarding for years now. Here is what their books look like.

Naomi's book I went with a pink color and dance paper. She's going to love this.

Justin's book I just loved the colors of this paper. I wanted his book to look more in boy colors.

Victoria loves purple like I do. I found this gorgeous purple flowery paper in my stash. It looks beautiful in person. The camera doesn't do it much justice.

Here are all 3 books.

I can't wait till they see these books in person. I think I will wait till they go to school to plant them in their rooms. Tomorrow is Friday so it will be nice surprise.

Ebates - Digital Shopping

I know I've been missing in action lately. I've been so busy with the girl scouts and selling cookies that I haven't had much time to do anything else. Anyway, have I ever told you how much I LOVE EBATES? You go to their website before you do any online shopping and they give you money back from your purchases. I am not joking. I just got $26 deposited into my paypal account today from all the holiday shopping I did in December. What do I use my free money on? I shop for new digital items I can use on my scrapbooking. If you are not a member of ebates you really should check them out. Since I joined I have gotten back over $200 and the best part is it's linked to my paypal account so I can do lots of shopping. Join ebates it's definitely worth it.

Okay, what did I just purchase you are wondering I'm sure. I am so into the project life format and I'm always looking for journaling cards. I found a few that I just had to have. I do not work for these designers. I'm just showing you what I added to my digital collection and they are not in any particular order.

Memory Keepers Love the tags and colors.

Alpha Dates This one was a must have. This could be used for so many layouts.

The Story Begins Great colors and love all the additional tags. Can be used for many layouts not just project life ones.

Violet Seeds I just had to have this one since I am reading the Book of Awesome. Did I just say AWESOME?

Basic Prompts Fall colors are my favorites. I just love the basic look of these. I am so into the journaling part of project life. These will be a great addition to your project.

Found this freebie along the way as well . Another AWESOME MOMENT

CT - Kathy Winters Designs - Twenty 12 Wordart

I am working on my 4th year of Project 365. This year I decided to make it simple and do it more like Project Life but digitally. Kathy Winters Designs has this great wordart called Twenty-12 perfect for project life and project 365 layouts.

Here is my week 5 using her wordart above plus some of many of Kathy Winters other kits found at Ginger Scraps.

Week 2 - Project Life Art/ & Project 365

I did a few 4 x 6 cards for my Project Life Art/Journal this week. Some were done digitally and some were done with paper. I will note above each photo which is which.

This one was done digitally.

This was done using paint chips and punches. It's a dream/wish to take the kids to Disney World one day.

Another paper one. This was done using some new rubber stamps I got at Michaels this past week on clearance and some old scrapping supplies I had bought years ago. It's fun finally doing some paper stuff again.

I am continuing on my project 365 (4th year). I'm going to do it again digitally but I am going to do it more simple like in the project life format. Hopefully adding more journaling. Here is my first 2 weeks.

2012 - Project Life - Art/Journal

My goal was to add the concept of Project Life in 2012 but wanted to use my own supplies to do so. It took me a few days to figure out how I was going to do that. I am all digital now. Been that way for about 7 years now. I occasionally do pull out my scrapping supplies to do cards but lately the urge to do more hands on scrapping has been there. However, I did not want to go to 12 x 12 in size. I went to Michaels to get albums for us to start our project. I was hoping to get like an 8 x 11 book but there were no three ring ones available. They had the 12 x 12 but didn't want to go that size nor did I want to pay a high price for each album as I needed 4. I finally found these smaller albums that were $9.99 each but after coupons I was able to get it for like $6.40 each. The pages fit 2 4 x 6 in size. Got one for each of my children so they can play as well.

I may or may not put photos in mine. I'm hoping to use maybe digital products as well as paper products in mine and maybe do like one 4 x 6 journaling card a week. Here is my title page for my album.

We decided to alter our covers a little bit. The light purple is my album. The butterfly purple album is my daughters, the blue album is my sons and the pink album is my other daughters.

Here I am with my completed cover.

Holiday Shopping - Games 2011

I haven't been scrapping as much lately. What's been taking up all my time? I've been researching for the best gifts for this holiday season. I'm still in the process of narrowing down what to get them since they really don't need anything.

Oh by the way, if you haven't yet signed up for ebates you should. Today, I shopped in 2 online stores. Barnes and Noble and Kmart. Both stores had free shipping. B&N gave me back 8% and Kmart 6% on the total of my order. I get money deposited into my paypal account quarterly. It's great. I have already earned $100 for this year. To sign up click on ebates above.

After cleaning out our game closet last month you can see my post about that here. I decided that we needed to add more games to our closet. These are the 3 new games they will open in December in no particular order. I linked the games to amazon if you want to purchase them. I did not purchase from amazon since ebates doesn't support amazon. I bought them from Barnes and Noble and Kmart. I also included the videos that shows you how to play the games.

3. Ligretto Card Game This one maybe my favorite since you can play all at once and no taking turns. Also can play all the way up to 12 players which probably would be crazy to do but I think would be fun when cousins come to visit.... hint.... hint....

Happy Shopping
