Fridays Fave 5

Sorry posting mine a bit late. The weekend just got away from me. This past week had so many ups and downs some happy and some sad we even had an emergency. Join me as I reflect back on the week and find my five favorite things.

1. Ashley's Baptism. The week started out with my niece Ashley getting baptized. I stood up as God Mother. The entire family got together to celebrate our little miracle. The only one not present was my husband since he had to work overnight.

2. Earrings. My daughter had an emergency this week. Her diamond earring went into her ear and we couldn't get it out. My husband had to rush her to the doctor's office for the doctor to remove the earring through the back. After returning home my husband and I went to the mall and purchased 2 new sets for both girls. The earrings that were in her ear are now in the garbage and note to self never purchase cheap earrings from Walmart. Cost us $80 for real ones at the mall. Priceless.

3. Iced Coffee. It seems to be the only thing that gets me motivated.

4. Peppers. Our garden has peppers finally. Amazing.

5. Emily's Birthday. At the end of the week we lit a candle in memorial of my niece Emily who passed away last year. She would have been one years old on Friday. It was a rough day for our family. She will always be remembered and loved my sweet angel Emily.

Fridays Fave 5

Wow is it Friday already? Do I say that every week? Time just seems to fly. I did manage to get a lot accomplished though this week. Lots of decluttering and finishing up projects.

So here we go with this week's favorite highlights of my week.

1. Laundry Room. Yes, I tackled my laundry room when the kids were in school. I managed to get the whole shelf cleaned out. All the summer stuff was put away. All the school supplies were put away. It is so nice to come home and see a nice place for my pocketbook and gym bag. The above photo shows you what it looks like now after the decluttering. But you need to see the before photo below to realize how much I have accomplished.

2. Ashley's blanket. I finally finished Ashley's knitted blanket. I had the knitting all done but it needed to be blocked. So finally one day this week I wet it and pinned it while stretching it to shape. This blanket actually took me 5 years to complete. What? It was originally started 5 years ago before I got pregnant with the triplets. Once they told me I was expecting triplets I put it down and didn't pick it back up until this past Jan or Feb when I found it in my closet and had the urge to learn to knit again.

3. Sewing Table. I started an on line sewing class. The class consists of 13 days. The first day was to make a space for your sewing machine. Well, this was a major project for me since my craft room is a total clutter mess. For 3 hours it took me to dig out the corner of my room to make my sewing space. Above photo shows my new sewing space. Take a lot at the before photo below. Yikes!

4. Naomi's leg warmer. Remember last week I started a new knitting project. Well, with all the tv I have been watching I managed to complete one leg. I have been watching Melrose Place, Heroes, Vampire Diaries, Desperate Housewives and Fast Forward. Oh, and you can't forget I watch Days of Our Lives every day.

5. Yom Kippur. We celebrated Yom Kippur with my husband's parents. Bagels was the main course along with some fish. The kids enjoyed coloring and looking at Daddy's old photos on the wall.

How was your week? Can you find five favorite things out of it? We'd love to come and visit you to enjoy them with you. If you've done a post, please link the specific post onto Mr. Linky here at Living To Tell the Story. Have a great weekend everyone!

Fridays Fave 5

Time for Friday's Fave Five! A time to look back over your week and look for five favorite things out of your week. If you are new, you can click over here for more details and then jump right in.

Credits: French Board by Deb Ammerman

Here are my favorites:

1. 2. & 3. Kindergarten Photos. The photo flyer came home from school. The cheapest package price was $25 for 1 5 x 7, 4 wallets and a class photo. Times that by 3 and you are spending $75 on photos which we do not have at this time. Plus why in the world would I need 3 class photos? I tried contacting the photo company 2 times both by e-mail and by phone with no responses back to working with me on a good price. So with much debating on what to get I wound up taking my own photos of the kids and ordering just the class photo for $15. The three diagnal photos are what I came up with on my own.

4. Knitting. Starting a new project. I am making leg warmers for Naomi's dance class. The color is the color of her leatard. Thanks to my friend Liesl I learned how to recognize knit and pearl so I now don't have to keep counting the stitches and making errors. I had to take out about an inch or so because I skipped a stitch. In no time I will complete this project. Doing it while I watch tv. Lots of new shows to watch this week. Vampire Diaries, Melrose Place, Hereos, Desperate Housewives, Fast Forward, Family Matters and much more.

5. Surprise from Hubby. Friday night my husband surprised me and came home early in order to make the fundraiser that my neighbor was doing for Juvenille Diabetes. The movie that was playing was "Back to the Future". They even had the car available to sit in before the movie. It was cold outside but the kids enjoyed the movie and we got to spend time as a family which doesn't happen very often.

Fridays Fave 5

Where did the week go? I know I'm posting this on Sunday but I just lost track of time. Time again to think back over the week and find five favorite things from your week. If you'd like more information you can scoot over here for the details.

1. My Niece Visits. It's always fun to have our Niece surprise visit us. We like to make funny faces while Mommy takes our photo.

2. Community Service Project. I participated in "Blankets of Belief" through Soldiers' Angels Service Project with the MOMS Club. We had 9 moms come to my house to help make blankets. In the 2 hours that we did this we didn't get much done but everyone who was here volunteered to take one home and make one for the cause. One night while watching my soap opera (Days of Our Lives) I managed to get one blanket done. Here's the finished blanket.

3. Friends. We can be friends at times without fighting. Here's a photo of us waiting to go to school.

4. Dance starts. Naomi started dance. This year she advances to the combo class where she will be taking tap/ballet and jazz. There will be 3 dances in the dance recital next May.

5. Twins for an hour and 1/2. While Naomi attends her dance class Justin and Victoria become twins for that time. They went to the mall with Mommy. They had dinner and enjoyed some time playing for a brief period of time. It's not that often they get some alone time without being triplets. This coming year they will have that special time once a week.

What are your favorites from your week. Write up a post and we'd love to come visit. Don't forget to sign Mr. Linky so we can find you!

Fridays Fave 5

It's been quite a busy week. If you're new and would like to join in, here are the details.

Here are my favorite photos for the week.

1. Victoria apple picking. I really like the excitement on her face as she picks apples at her friend Alexandria's 5th birthday party.

2. Justin finished with his first homework assignment. He made the letter Bb with buttons and then sat and cut out words that begin with the letter B. He was so proud to finish his first homework.

3. Naomi at the library. She enjoyed hanging on the bike racks in front of the library posting for mommy's camera.

4. My sunflowers have finally bloomed. We started these from scratch and I did not kill them like I normally do with plants so this is a major accomplishment for me. They are in my yard in a big pot.

5. Children's creativity. One night after school the kids took all their magnets off the fridge and found another place to stick them on our vent in the family room. They even went as far as trying to sign their names on the project. Very creative.

What has been your favorites this week? If you do a post, sign on up to Mr. Linky and let us enjoy your favorites with you. Have a great weekend everyone.

Susanne at Living to Tell the Story hosts a “Friday Fave Five” in which we share our five favorite things from the past week. Click on the button to read more of the details, and you can visit Susanne to see the list of others’ favorites or to join in.

1. Organized Entryway. I redid our entryway so the kids have a place to put their backpacks, coats and shoes when they walk into the house. This is a photo of the neat and organized entryway.
2. Kindergarten Orientation. The children met their teacher and class room for the first time. Unfortunately there was no bus to ride on. They seemed to like their new teacher and new school.

3. Beautiful flowers. My sunflower bloomed. The children took photos with it the day they had kindergarten orientation. I just love this photo of Victoria. She has such a silly face here.

4. First Day of Kindergarten. My children started elementary school on Thursday. This is a photo of them right before the went on the bus for the very first time. They were not scared. Of course, after the bus left I walked home with tears rolling down my cheeks. I now have almost 3 hours of free time each day. Really looking forward to the quite and hopefully getting things done around the house.

5. Having my husband home for the day. He got to spend some time with the kids as he walked the kids to the bus stop for their 2nd day of school. We spent some alone quite time while the kids were in school. Then he took us out to dinner when they returned home.

What were your favorites for the week. Don't forget if you do a post and sign on the Mr. Linky you'll be entered in our 52nd week celebration.

Fridays Fave 5

Hello everyone! Welcome to Fave Fives where we take a look back at our week and find five favorite things. It's a way of looking for our blessings, those small, and sometimes big, things that have made us smile or uplifted us. If you're new, all the details are here and then you only have to do one thing and that is to just jump right on in and join us!

It's been a birthday week here. The triplets turned five on Tuesday. Since then we have been celebrating every day with family. Their friend party is actually tomorrow.

1. Wednesday we went to my parents house. My grandmother, grandfather, Aunt Lynn and cousin Dina were all there. I haven't seen them in a long time. This was the triplets 2nd cake for the week. Their first cake was on their birthday with just Daddy and I.

2. I also saw my niece Ashley on Wednesday. This time I fed her. She now weighs 5 pounds 6 ounces.

3. We went to the MOMS Club End of Summer Picnic. It was a big hassle to plan but in the end it turned out great. The weather was a bit crappy but at least it did not rain except for a little drizzle and it was not hot. Here's a photo of my triplets and their friend Victoria. Justin keeps telling me has a girl friend and her name is Victoria. He was following her all around the yard.

4. My in-laws saw us on Thurs and took us out for dinner at Fridays. The waiters sang to the kids and they got ice cream.

5. Today we went to my sisters again. This time our Cousin Louis, Uncle Roy and Aunt Theresa joined us along with our grandfather and grandmother from Florida. We all went to the Olive Garden for dinner. The kids again had ice cream.

What was your favorite things from your week? Let us know in a post and link up so we can come and visit. Don't forget next week is our 52nd week celebration. One whole year of enjoying our favorites.

Fridays Fave 5

Is it Friday already? Time flew this week as it always does. Only 2 more weeks of summer vacation and then school starts. My favorites this week:

1. Vacation Bible School. The kids attended VBS all week. It gave me a chance to get a much needed break. I was able to get some errands done such as go to the laundromat to get Justin's blanket cleaned after he peed on it weeks ago. I drove around and found new places to visit (Stone Museum below). I even went to the mall once and sat in peace and quite drinking a cup of coffee. I also bought the girls those pretty headbands you see in the photo below. I went to Target 2 times. Once to get the favors for their birthday party and today to get them a birthday gift. The kids loved going to VBS and came home with many crafts. This was their 3rd year going.

2. My Car. We got our car back this week. Damage was over $5,000 but luckily we only had to pay our deductible of $500. Plus a car rental fee which my husband said they will be billing us for. Looks brand new. It's nice to have my car back.

3. Stone Museum. I took the kids on Thursday after VBS to the Stone Museum. I found it while driving around on Monday. Admission was free and it was only open on Thurs and Friday. The kids loved walking around and posing for photos. There was even a playground and mini golf.
4. Total Money Makeover. While the kids were in VBS I had some free time for reading. I had taken this book out from the library by Dave Ramsey called "Total Money Makeover." I read many blogs and one blog that I follow suggested to read this book. Well, I started it 3 weeks ago. It's very hard to read with triplets. The other night when I was in my husband's office making copies of some tax stuff I needed to mail out I looked up and low and behold I saw the same exact book sitting on my husband's desk. I questioned him about it. He told me that he gave that book to me a while ago and suggested I read it. At the time I didn't have time to read it. So every day while the kids were in mops I sat in my car or sat on the bench reading away and taking notes. No I did not finish the book but I did get to step 7. I certainly will be trying his method out and seeing if it will work. He suggests baby steps. So this month I will start with Step 1. Set up a Budget and start saving an emergency fund of $1,000. What can I lose? Eventually our finances will be better. Doesn't hurt to try his method. Maybe in 2 years we will be debt free? I certainly have been very frugal lately and really watch where our money is going. Absolutely stop using credit cards!

5. Flylady I'm back. Well, I have just had enough with this house. So I am again going to try to follow flylady. I always seem to wind up joining her when she is in the kitchen. This week I did manage to do two missions. Scrubbed down the counter tops on Monday and purged and decluttered under my kitchen sink 3 cabinets today.

What's your favorites from the week? Good old standby's? Something new? Share with us in a post and then sign Mr. Linky so that we can come visit!

Fridays Fave 5

Wow is it Friday already? This week flew! Here's my favorite highlights for the week in no particular order.

1. Breakfast in Bed. This week was a bit stressful. But this morning my husband brought me eggs and coffee for breakfast. He also fed the kids so I could sleep a little bit longer. It's always nice when he has time to chip in and show that he cares.

2. New Message Board. We went to home depot this week and did the kids free workshop. Each child made a message board. One side is cork and the other is a white board. At the bottom is 3 hooks where I found washable markers with hooks at AC Moore to hang on it. I haven't found a place to hang the boards yet but the kids love playing with their new homemade item.

After making our board we went to the craft store and picked up some items to decorate the board. Here is Justin's after he decorated it. He painted the J in different colors. His embellishments were school related. The girls had princess items. He drew a picture of his sister Victoria with pink tails.

3. Cribs. It's been about 2 months since we purchased the twin beds for the girls. The cribs were in my bedroom waiting to be dismantled. My husband finally the other night took them apart. They will be donated to Vietnam Veterans of America tomorrow along with some crib bedding that I no longer need.

4. My Niece was Born. Ashley Faith was born on August 4. She was born at 32 weeks and weighed 4 pounds 11 ounces. I was able to visit her in the hospital this week. My sister had some difficulty with the pregnancy and had her early. This is a photo of my niece Amanda looking in at her sister.

5. National Night Out. We went to National Night Out for the first time. For the past 2 years I had volunteered and worked at the MOMS Club booth but this year I did not since I had no one to watch the kids. We took a tour of the police department and was able to see the jail. This is a photo of the kids in the jail with their friends.

Fridays Fave 5

Welcome to Fave Five. Another week gone by already. Already another chance to look back and find the nice things over the week. If you're new you can get details here. Then just jump in!

A busy, busy week this last week. Lots to look back over but these were my top 5 favorites.

1. Ice cream with friends. We had a MOMs Club Playdate at my friend Lori's house. Luckily it was on the one day that it was nice out without any rain. There were 12 moms present. It was nice to chit chat with everyone while the kids enjoyed a fun filled day outside. Here are the kids waiting in line for their ice cream.

2. Preschool Graduation. My children graduated from preschool this week. They did a little show where they sang songs and received their diplomas. After the show they played a game show which involved myself and the kids. My friend Stacy helped Justin and I helped Naomi. Victoria was too afraid to go up on stage.

3. My husband and my nephew. We were supposed to go to Sesame Place today but it was canceled because of the rain. So instead we went to my in-laws where my SIL was there to celebrate father's day. Here is a photo of my husband enjoying some time with our new nephew Michael.
4. Quitting my job. My husband didn't want me working to rely on my mom and MIL to watch the kids while they are out of school this summer. So I quit. I was only working to pay for the preschool and now that they aren't going any more it just had to end. My last day my friend Lynn treated me for coffee and donuts. I will miss her and my job. It certainly will be quite now that I'm not around.

5. I'm President. Yes, I did agree to be President of the MOMS Club. This should be very interesting year. No one wanted to volunteer and at the very last moment I said I would do it. I was Treasurer this year. So I'm giving that up along with newsletter editor. Hopefully being president will be less work. We'll see!

Fridays Fave 5

Details to what it's all about are here.

My favorites for the week:

1. Egg Coloring and Egg Hunts:
When I was growing up I would color eggs with my parents. It was a fun project to do. Even though I am now Jewish I thought it was fun to have the kids participate in something I did when I grew up. They even tried to eat it. Of course, they did not like it so I'm left with tons of hard boiled eggs.

We went to 2 egg hunts (our town and one close to my parents house). Our town had their annual egg hunt. It lasted for literally 10 minutes. The kids had a blast collecting the eggs. They sat in the car and opened up all the eggs to find candy and little plastic jewelry. The 2nd one was at the beach near my parents. We went with my sister, BIL and niece. We had to wait 45 minutes in line. There were a lot of people there. The eggs were buried in the sand. There was so many people there that at one point I lost one of my kids (Victoria) luckily my mom was with us and she was with her the entire time. Talk about panic. Anyway, after finding some eggs they opened them up to find coupons to use on the boardwalk. The kids were disappointed that they got no candy.

2. Dairy Queen: We went to DQ for the first time for lunch. The kids were so happy to be able to have a hot dog with fries. The happy meal included ice cream. We will go back another time.

3. Dance: Naomi had her dance photos taken. She was so excited when I put make up on her face. She even told her sister that she was not allowed to have make up because she is not doing dance only her. Look at how big she looks here.

4. Blooms: It is starting to feel and look like spring. The 2 trees in front of my house started to bloom with the white flowers again. It does this every April and last only until May. It is beautiful when all the flowers are out.

5. Rainbow: The kids saw a rainbow for the very first time. It didn't last for very long but I did manage to get some photos.
