I did a few 4 x 6 cards for my Project Life Art/Journal this week. Some were done digitally and some were done with paper. I will note above each photo which is which.

This was done using paint chips and punches. It's a dream/wish to take the kids to Disney World one day.

Another paper one. This was done using some new rubber stamps I got at Michaels this past week on clearance and some old scrapping supplies I had bought years ago. It's fun finally doing some paper stuff again.

I am continuing on my project 365 (4th year). I'm going to do it again digitally but I am going to do it more simple like in the project life format. Hopefully adding more journaling. Here is my first 2 weeks.

My goal was to add the concept of Project Life in 2012 but wanted to use my own supplies to do so. It took me a few days to figure out how I was going to do that. I am all digital now. Been that way for about 7 years now. I occasionally do pull out my scrapping supplies to do cards but lately the urge to do more hands on scrapping has been there. However, I did not want to go to 12 x 12 in size. I went to Michaels to get albums for us to start our project. I was hoping to get like an 8 x 11 book but there were no three ring ones available. They had the 12 x 12 but didn't want to go that size nor did I want to pay a high price for each album as I needed 4. I finally found these smaller albums that were $9.99 each but after coupons I was able to get it for like $6.40 each. The pages fit 2 4 x 6 in size. Got one for each of my children so they can play as well.

I may or may not put photos in mine. I'm hoping to use maybe digital products as well as paper products in mine and maybe do like one 4 x 6 journaling card a week. Here is my title page for my album.

We decided to alter our covers a little bit. The light purple is my album. The butterfly purple album is my daughters, the blue album is my sons and the pink album is my other daughters.

I haven't been scrapping as much lately. What's been taking up all my time? I've been researching for the best gifts for this holiday season. I'm still in the process of narrowing down what to get them since they really don't need anything.

Oh by the way, if you haven't yet signed up for ebates you should. Today, I shopped in 2 online stores. Barnes and Noble and Kmart. Both stores had free shipping. B&N gave me back 8% and Kmart 6% on the total of my order. I get money deposited into my paypal account quarterly. It's great. I have already earned $100 for this year. After cleaning out our game closet last month you can see my post about that here. I decided that we needed to add more games to our closet. These are the 3 new games they will open in December in no particular order. I linked the games to amazon if you want to purchase them. I did not purchase from amazon since ebates doesn't support amazon. I bought them from Barnes and Noble and Kmart. I also included the videos that shows you how to play the games.

Bad Couple of Days

The past couple of days have been bad. Being banned from a place that I most frequently visited has hurt big time. But I believe, "Everything happens for a reason." "God, knew I needed a break so he gave me one." So being banned has been a blessing. There are many sharks out there in the world and they are there to hurt people and so I was a victim to this hurt. But for the record, I did not steal or share any scrapbooking kits with anyone. I was wrongly framed. I will not give up scrapbooking to make those sharks happy. Scrapping is the only thing that I enjoy doing and so you can't take that away from me. I also believe in Karma. I will forgive that person who wrongly accused me but believe "What comes around goes around".

Last month I started a challenge over at SDD. It was hosted by Artful Scrapping Outside the Box. I did the cover of my art journal. First I did it digitally.

Then I added some scrapbooking supplies that I had in my craft room collecting dust. It was a lot of fun to use all the stuff I already had again. This is my completed cover for my art journal.

Art Journal

I started an art journal in 2008. Of course, everything I start always gets put on the side because I never have time to finish it. I was putting quotes and color combinations or anything that made me smile into the book. This month over at SDD there is a new challenge called Artful Scrapworks Challenge . I'm always up for a new challenge so I decided to participate. In June the challenge is to make your cover. So I found my 2008 journal and since it had no cover on it I started to decorate it. This is my digital version of the cover. Love the colors but I wanted to go hybrid and use some of my neglected scrapbooking supplies.

So after printing up the above page this is what I have as my completed cover. Unfortunately it lost the purple color to it as my printer was out of that color ink.

Anyway as I was stumbling around the web I came across this video which is exactly what I was doing in my journal and thought I'd share it with you. So neat as I was doing that in 2008. Now, to grab my unread magazines and start cutting and clipping again.

Scrapbooking Fun - NOT!

I like to do scrapbooking challenges and from time to time I like to visit other websites where I can use other designers kits to make my pages. I do this just for fun (no pressure from CT work) and I get pages done for my children's albums that I wouldn't have done otherwise. Scrapbooking should be fun not frustrating.

Being frustrated is not my idea of having fun. I have been a member over at After Five Designs since January 2009 and have participated in their challenges each month and have enjoyed them. However, for the past 2 months I have had some issues with my layouts. In December, two of my layouts were deleted from their gallery and I got an e-mail saying they were inappropriate! I couldn't figure out why my layouts were inappropriate. Finally someone got back to me saying that I used retired designers from their sight. Now, the correct way would have been telling me that originally when they deleted my layout. So I didn't have to track down why my layouts were INAPPROPRIATE!

Designer in Need - Charity Collab

I am so sad for Tish, she lost her kitty, then lost her dog and her entire house. This tragedy that happened to her is unbelievable.

On November 5, Leticia of Pixiemama Designs house was burned down. Her entire house and all of her stuff. Luckily, she and her just turned 4-yr-old son and husband were visiting family while their house burned to the ground. It is believed that this was caused by a problem with the furnace. If Tish, her son, and her husband had been home, they likely would not have made it out of the home. I am so so so glad that they are okay. But, the sad part, they lost their dog. Their cats ran away, but the dog didnt. Tish recently lost her cat to a rare disease was really heart-broken.

Prior to all of this she had set up a charity kit to raise money for the SPCA. It is called Goodbye is not Forever. I had the honor of working with her kit. I made 2 pages of my cats who have passed away.

The kit and matching glitters are selling for $3.50 each, and $2 of the proceeds of each sale will be donated to the SPCA International, to help animals get out of abusive situations or find homes that they desperately need. The kit includes 12 papers and over 30 elements, and is dedicated to her loving little Otis.

Scrappity-Doo-Dah is in the process of collecting kits to make a mega collab called Country Christmas where all the proceeds will go to Tish and her family to help them replace some of what they have lost. If you are a designer and you are interested in participating in this charity collaboration please contact Tiffany at tiffany at inspiredbydominic dot com or contact Yvonne, Heather Manning at SDD.

I have seen the kits as they have come in and they are beautiful. I am currently making quick pages and brag book pages to contribute to the collab. It will be released shortly. I will post when it is released to point you in the direction where you can purchase it.

If you want to do something to help and you are not a designer please consider purchasing one of Tish’s many fabulous items in her store at Scrappity-Doo-Dah. I assure you that you will get a fantastic product and you will also be helping out a family in need.

One person doesn’t have to spend a lot of money every time they go to a store, but they do have to purchase something on a regular basis, or the store will have to close it’s doors.

To those of you who have supported Deco-Pages on a regular basis, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I apologize to you for not being able to keep our site open...to the rest, I urge you in the future to support the digital scrapbook sites you like to call your virtual home.

Charity - SPCA International

From November 4th through the entire month of November, $2 from each and every sale of this kit (specially priced at $3.50) will be donated to SPCA International, to help them help animals. SPCA helps home and adopt animals, rescue and feed animals in need, bring home animals from Iraq who've befriended and helped deployed soldiers, and is on a mission to stop animal abuse. Your first 3 layouts can also be made by using the challenge color scheme for the month in your layouts. You earn posting prize kits #1 and #2 by creating all 5 layouts for the challenge. By participating in the Color Challenge you end up with a complete kit and 5 more layouts added to your scrapbook!
